Comparison
Knowt vs Quizcard: which flashcard generator fits you?
Knowt and Quizcard both start from your material instead of a blank card. The differences are in what survives the conversion, what surrounds the deck, and what is free.
Side by side
- Inputs. Both accept PDFs and notes. Quizcard also takes Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), text, and Markdown directly, and reads slides one per page.
- Diagrams. Quizcard crops charts and figures from the PDF onto cards, so visual questions become real cards. Most generators, Knowt included, produce text cards.
- Around the deck. Quizcard keeps the PDF attached with a reader, highlights, sticky notes, search across everything, folders, and a tutor that answers from your pages.
- Sharing. Any Quizcard deck can be published as a public page that anyone can study or copy, listed at quizcard.org/explore.
- Offline. Quizcard installs as an app and works without a connection.
Pricing
Knowt offers a free tier with limits on AI generations and a paid plan for more. Quizcard’s free plan includes unlimited manual decks and studying plus two generated documents; Basic ($4.99/month) adds ten generated documents a month, Pro ($9.99/month) adds thirty with up to 100 pages read per document. Either tool lets you try generation before paying.
Who should pick which
If you mostly want quick text cards from typed notes and a familiar Quizlet-like study experience, Knowt is a reasonable pick. If your material is heavy on figures, formulas, and long PDFs, or you want the source attached and a tutor that reads it, Quizcard is built for that.
