How to turn Google Slides into flashcards

Google Slides has no export to flashcards, but it exports to formats Quizcard reads directly. Two minutes from a shared lecture deck to a study deck.

Steps

  1. In Google Slides, open File → Download and choose Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx). If the slides are mostly pictures and diagrams, choose PDF Document instead so the figures can be cropped onto cards.
  2. In Quizcard, open a folder, click Upload file, and pick the exported file.
  3. Click Make flashcards. Each slide is read in order; titles and bullets become question-and-answer cards grouped by topic.
  4. Delete cards that repeat what you already know and study the rest.

PowerPoint export or PDF export?

Lecturer shared a view-only deck?

If you cannot download, use File → Make a copy first, or ask for download access. As a last resort, File → Print preview can save a PDF from the browser’s print dialog.

Questions

How many slides can it read?

The free plan reads the first 30 slides, Basic 50, and Pro 100. Split a longer deck in Slides and upload the halves.

Will images on the slides become cards?

Only from a PDF export, where figures are cropped onto cards. From .pptx only the text is used.

Does it work with Keynote?

Yes. Export to PowerPoint or PDF from Keynote and upload that file.
